Three ways to play

MODE 01

CLASSIC 9×9

Easy starts with 42 clues, Medium with 34, and Hard with 28. Every generated puzzle is checked for a single solution.

MODE 02

QUICK 6×6

A shorter puzzle with 2×3 boxes. Use the digits 1 through 6 and finish a full grid in a few minutes.

MODE 03

DAILY

Get the same 9×9 puzzle for each local calendar date. Your completion streak stays in this browser only.

Sudoku rules

In 9×9 Sudoku, every row, column, and 3×3 box must contain the digits 1 through 9 exactly once. QUICK 6×6 uses the same rule with digits 1 through 6 and 2×3 boxes. Starting clues cannot be changed. PlayMinute checks that every generated puzzle has one solution. Difficulty is grouped by the number of starting clues, so puzzles in the same group can still feel different.

What to check when you are stuck

TIP 01

Find nearly complete lines

If a row or column has only one empty cell, the missing digit is forced.

TIP 02

Write candidate notes

Turn on Notes and add the digits that could fit when a cell has no obvious answer yet.

TIP 03

Narrow down a box

Eliminate rows and columns inside a box until a digit has only one possible cell.

TIP 04

Cross-check, do not guess

Move between the cell's row, column, and box. One confirmed digit often unlocks several more.

Frequently asked questions

Is this online Sudoku free?

Yes. Play free with no sign-up or install. Your current puzzle and personal records stay in this browser only.

How do Notes work?

Turn Notes on, then press a number to add a small candidate to the selected empty cell. On a keyboard, press N to toggle Notes.

Does using a hint affect my record?

A hinted puzzle still counts as completed and keeps a Daily streak. Its time does not update your personal best, so clean runs remain comparable.

When does the Daily Sudoku change?

A new puzzle appears when your device's local date changes. With no account sync, streaks do not carry to another browser or device.

Can I continue after closing the page?

Yes. Entered digits, notes, and elapsed time save automatically. Reopen the game in the same browser to continue. Undo history resets after a reload.
